Using Tarp Clamps on a Titan Survival Emergency Blanket

When setting up a makeshift shelter out in the field, some tarps and emergency blankets do not have grommets or attachment points on the 4 corners.

This makes setting up the shelter more challenging and time consuming. There are several methods of using different knots and corner folds with small stones which can be effectively employed.

There is also an easier method which is to simply use tarp clamps to secure a line to the 4 corners of your tarp or emergency blanket.

Tarp clamps come in different makes and models with varying price ranges. These are easily found on sites like eBay or Amazon.

You attach the clamp to the corner and then attach your cordage. Then you can configure and secure your shelter. I added a zip tie to each clamp to make attaching the cordage easier. And I always carry bungee cords for a super quick setup.

It’s just another option to add to your shelter kit to give you more versatility with different materials. I like the tarp clamps because I can keep them on my tarp or emergency blanket so they are ready to go.

The Titan Survival emergency blankets come in standard and XL sizes with a variety of color options. They are lightweight and sturdy so that you can carry several in your pack.

I like to be able to use one for an overhead shelter, another for a ground cover and a couple to wrap up in to stay warm. This meets your shelter requirements for having something to sleep under, to sleep on and to sleep in.

Consider using tarp clamps to make shelter construction quicker and easier when using tarps and emergency blankets that do not have corner attaching points.
